Cheap is a sometimes a loose term that can have different meanings. While low pricing is always good, sometimes too much quality is sacrificied. Start by defining your need. If you're putting on single event with where they'll only be using them one time, then cheap is definitely the way to go and quality isn't as important, especially if it's a give craft project. The same goes for certain giveaway promotions. Sometimes the quality of the drumsticks can come second to price. However with working drummers, we recommend that they pay a little bit more because "cheap" sometimes often render a low quality stick that they will break easily on the gig. Now for practicing, you can get away with cheap drumsticks as drummers tend to go through a lot of sticks while shedding and don't always want to use their good ones. In this case, it makes sense to consider lower quality drumsticks that are affordable enough that it won't matter if you go through several pair quickly.
